New World Record for Storage Performance Set

Hardware site TweakTown yesterday broke a world record for storage performance at Computex 2013 in Taipei. The system in question utilised a new Intel Haswell Core i5 processor and an AsRock Z87 Motherboard, in conjunction with 16GB of Corsair memory.

The record was set using 16 240GB Mushkin Chronos Deluxe SSDs and an Areca RAID card to give the computer a storage capacity of 3.8TB. The system acheived a HDD score of 592,754 in 3DMark Vantage, with a peak data rate of 468MB/s while gaming. You can view the full 3DMark result here.
