ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU Mini: Small but Powerful

Category: Video Cards
Posted: 05:40AM

It is pretty much an easy task to build a decent mini-ITX gaming machine with the right hardware and chassis. To ASUS' credit, its efforts in this segment have been impressive (P8Z77-I Deluxe) - and likely to improve further with the GTX 670 DirectCU Mini. The smaller enthusiast-class Kepler GPU has a PCB length of 17cm, sports a redesigned DirectCU cooler which (according to ASUS) is just as effective as its bigger siblings, whilst enabling the same amount of graphics horsepower as a standard-sized GTX 670. Despite using just a single 8-pin connector (instead of the usual two 6-pin), the GTX 670 DirectCU Mini still manages to offer outputs of dual DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. ASUS is currently working on a testing sample of its GTX 670 DirectCU Mini and has not released further details, but the company promises to make more information available near the card's launch.
