NVIDIA revealed its handheld gaming device known as Project SHIELD at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas this year, and has just released a bit of background information in a blog post. The device was developed in secret over several months using the latest mobile chip from NVIDIA which features impressive graphical capabilities. The all-in-one device features a controller, screen, and a number of interesting features. It is powered by the Android Operating System and will be able to run all games developed for it, and it will also be able to stream games from a PC with a GeForce GTX 650 or better. People inside the company had wanted to create a gaming device for years, and with the work of engineers from NVIDIA locations around the world, it was made possible.
