A team of Russian researchers at Kaspersky has found a new cyber attack known as Red October, sharing the name of a Russian submarine from a Tom Clancy novel. Red October has been targeting diplomatic, government, and scientific systems since 2007. Infected computers have been discovered across the globe and the team doesn't plan to reveal specific organizations that were targeted. The team believes that the people behind this attack are of Russian origin and also compared the virus to the Flame virus that was discovered recently.
