Synology Launches DiskStation Manager 4.2 Beta at CES

Synology announced the public beta for its DiskStation Manager 4.2 software at CES earlier this week, and it features a number of upgrades to the NAS operating system. A number of new applications have been added to the Quick Connect software including support for DS audio, DS photo+, and DS cloud apps. The software continues to offer support for iOS, Android, and Windows phones and these devices now have the ability to stream video from DSM. Updates to Package Center allow for better organization of applications and Audio Station supports Bluetooth speakers. All x86 models now have Synology High Availability to help minimize downtime while Amazon Glacier support allows for affordable backup to an external cloud.
