There are multiple reasons why one would want to use an SSD in their computer, and definitely high on the list is speed. Achieving these high speeds can be difficult though, as the SATA-III spec is limited to 6 Gb/s. That is why some companies are manufacturing SSDs that connect using the much faster PCIe spec, and now Mushkin has announced its own offering in that category.
The Scorpion PCIe SSD was original designed for enterprise environments and has since been improved to offer the largest storage capacity it can while still being a high performance and reliable part. When it launches it will be available in 240 GB, 480 GB, 960 GB, and 1920 GB capacities.
