One of the technologies expected to dominate this year's CES is Ultra HD or 4K resolution. This new standard has four times the pixels of current Full HD and thereby provides some of the sharpest images you can see. Of course before you can see an Ultra HD image in all its glory, you need something able to push those pixels, and Gigabyte has come to the show prepared.
Select Gigabyte motherboards feature dual Thunderbolt connections, which are each able to support DisplayPort 1.1 connections and 2K resolutions. By using two splitters, these two ports can connect to four Full HD monitors to give you the Ultra HD experience. Driving these ports is the Intel HD4000 Graphics solution built into 3rd generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. That's right, 4K resolution on a multi-monitor setup using Intel integrated graphics, thanks to Intel Collage Technology. For those who already have the needed hardware, all you need is a driver update to be in business.
