It was only a matter of time until ASUS assaulted PC gamers with enthusiast-class storage, and it's set to deliver with a PCI-Express-based SSD - the Republic of Gamers (ROG) RAIDR Express. Announced alongside the impressive Limited Edition ROG Aries II video card, the ROG RAIDR Express promises faster game loading times and transfer speeds compared to SATA-bound SSD storage, by exploiting the higher bandwidth of the PCI-Express 2.0 x4 interface. It utilizes a RAID 0 setup for its mSATA SSD sub-units in a red and black color schemed add-on card that's encased with an EMI shield, and is designed to work with both ROG and other ASUS motherboards as well. Available storage sizes have yet to be revealed, but ASUS has assured compatibility across current operating systems and chipsets.
