An update to the Bing Desktop was released yesterday, adding support for all Windows operating systems from Windows XP and Windows Server 2008. The move to support the older OSes now would appear strange, particularly considering Microsoft's ongoing campaign to move users on to more up-to-date versions of Windows such as Windows 8, which was released this October. The update builds on popular features from the original Bing Desktop such as using the search engine from the Windows desktop and the 'Top Contents' button that displays the latest news, videos, and other popular topics. The update also adds additional tools such as allowing users to set their desktop wallpaper to mirror the image displayed on the Bing homepage on any particular day.
