Last week Futuremark revealed that it was working on the next iteration of the 3DMark benchmark, focused on DirectX 11 graphics, and the company has just announced Cloud Gate, a new benchmark for DirectX 10 compatible hardware. Cloud Gate is included in the new 3DMark and uses a DirectX 11 engine, but will be compatible with DirectX 10 hardware as well. Screenshots of the new test can be found on the 3DMark website. The release of the new version of 3DMark has been pushed back to January 2013 for Windows, a decision the team made after gathering feedback from its Benchmark Development Program partners.
