During a recent event held by Austrian SSD manufacturer Angelbird, the team from o.v.e.r.clockers.at were able to set a new world record on the PCMark05 benchmark. The score of 63,665 points was achieved using an Intel i7 3770K running at 6.404GHz and was cooled using liquid nitrogen. In addition to the super low temperatures provided by the liquid nitrogen, the team took advantage of a number of Noctua products, including the NT-H1 thermal compound. To pick the ideal CPU for the benchmark the team used the NH-D14 cooler as "It's a child's play to install and provides ample cooling performance to get a good idea how well a given CPU will overclock," according to Matthias Zronek of the o.v.e.r.clockers.at team. Noctua fans were also used to keep airflow over all the critical components as "Good airflow over the right components helps to keep the system stable, but I simply can not afford using noisy high speed fans for this and loose my head over it - that's why we use Noctua's superbly quiet fans." Noctua CEO Mag. Roland Mossig added that "We're thrilled to see Austrian's leading overclockers score a world record using gear from two Austrian quality brands."
