Just how gorgeous will the visuals be for BioShock Infinite's PC version when it comes out on March 26? Judging by the comprehensive previews of a recent PC demo released by Irrational Games, there will be enough graphical options to tweak that should appease most enthusiasts. The demonstration ran on computers with a relatively powerful AMD FX-8120 coupled with a single Radeon 7900 card and 16GB RAM which reportedly ran flawlessly, but given Irrational's pedigree, there's no reason why BioShock Infinite won't be just as seamless on more modest PCs. Unfortunately BioShock Infinite's readjusted release window means an even longer wait because of further polishing and bug fixing. However, Ken Levine assures fans that it's for the best. "At the end of the day, the slings and arrows will go away. The game will last forever."

While BioShock Infinite is primarily a DirectX 10-based title, it also features some DX11 enhancements which promises to make the game all the more stunning. Here are the graphical settings you'll be able to play around with (could change in the final version):

  • Anti-aliasing
  • Texture detail
  • Dynamic shadows
  • Post-processing quality
  • Light shafts
  • Ambient occlusion
  • Object detail
  • V-sync
  • FOV (a slider, with no listed value)
  • UI margins
  • Ability to toggle highlighting of “searchable” or “important” objects
