iPad Mini Takes Sales from iPad 4
After the release of the Apple iPad 4 and its 7-inch counterpart, the iPad Mini earlier this month, there has been much speculation as to whether or not the release of this new 7-inch tablet has been affecting sales of the full-size 10-inch iPad 4. Well, we may finally have an answer. According to a survey of 50 Apple stores conducted earlier this week by financial group Citi, 96 percent of the stores said that the availability of the iPad Mini was limited. On the flipside, just six percent of the stores said that availability of the iPad 4 was limited.
By no means do the results of this investigation mean that the iPad Mini is outselling the full-size iPad 4, as there were more full-size iPads produced in total in the current quarter. Therefore these results could be attributed to stores simply failing to anticipate demand for the smaller version of the iPad. Unfortunately, it is likely we'll have to wait until at least the end of this quarter to see any definitive results showing which version of the iPad is leading the pack.
