Steam Greenlight Spotlight: Enamel
It's been three weeks since the last Steam Greenlight Spotlight, but it finally makes its triumphant return. Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, I was without power for a whopping 15 days, but I'm back and that means you can expect (hopefully uninterrupted) weekly spotlights once again!
Enamel is a 2D side-scrolling Action-RPG with a dark, gritty graphical theme. You play as Robert Widmark, the commander of a space shuttle sent to investigate a strange unidentified object. After the object violently flares up, damaging your shuttle, your character escapes in an emergency capsule and heads toward Earth – or what's left of it. Apparently the unidentified object caused a cataclysmic event back home. Not much else is known of the game's story at this time, so whether you're trying to investigate the event or simply trying to survive, I can't tell you.
Developer Ehnenu promises big, open maps in three different lands, unusual enemies, twelve weapon types, each with their own special attacks, modifications to the weaponry, and recipes for crafting items, ammo and more. In addition, your character will have skills, attributes, and perks, though nothing specific has been unveiled. You may be wondering why I have chosen a game with so much information still up in the air, but if you take a look at the video and screenshots below, I think you'll understand why the game caught my eye. Enamel is still early in development, but there's a lot of potential here.
