Kingston is adding to its cost-effective SSDNow V series line of solid state drives with the SSDNow V300. The drive features an LSI SandForce SF-2281 controller and is built using 19nm NAND flash memory. The V300 is targeted at users who want to follow the SSD path without spending a lot of money to get their first unit. Featuring performance up to 10 times faster than 7200 RPM hard drives, the V300 is capable of sequential read and write speeds up to 450MB/s. Kingston SSD Business Manager Ariel Perez said "The SSDNow V300 is the best cost-efficient upgrade for users who want their existing systems to perform faster. They will experience faster boot up and shutdown times, and will also see much better system performance when multiple applications are open." A number of different upgrade and standalone models will be available in capacities of 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB.
