Today, Microsoft Director of Programming for Gaming, Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, announced on Twitter that Xbox Live would be celebrating its 10th anniversary by rewarding its most loyal members with a free Xbox Live Special Edition Xbox 360, complete with controller. Gaming blog Kotaku first discovered this when a member reported that a friend had received a special edition console despite the fact he had never ordered one. It was all due to being an Xbox Live member since the launch of the service in late 2002.
Unfortunately for many, not all Xbox Live veterans will be receiving the free Xbox console; only those picked in a secret draw. Nonetheless, it is nice to see companies rewarding their most loyal clients with special promotions.
