The AMD FirePro S10000 Professional Graphics Card was announced this Monday by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), which is claiming it as the most powerful server graphics solution to date. According to AMD, the FirePro S10000 is the first professional graphics card to achieve 1.48 teraflops of double-precision floating-point performance and 5.91 teraflops of peak single-precision performance. The S10000 is AMD's response to the recent release of the NVIDIA Tesla K20 server graphics cards for super-computing.
Specifications on the FirePro S10000 include 6GB GDDR5 video memory, 384-bit memory interface, 480GB/s of memory bandwidth combined between the two GPUs, and a TDP of 375W. Other features of the FirePro S10000 are: Error Correcting Code (ECC) Memory, AMD PowerTune Technology, GPU Virtualization, GeometryBoost Technology,Partially Resident Textures (PRT), AMD Eyefinity Technology, and support for OpenCL 1.2, DirectX 11.1 and OpenGL 4.2.
