NVIDIA has Record Revenue for Third Quarter
While some companies didn't fare too well during the last fiscal quarter, NVIDIA was quite the opposite. Revenue during NVIDIA's third quarter hit a record $1.2 billion, which is a nearly $200 million increase compared to the same quarter last year. Gross margin was also at a record high of 52.9%, and things are looking so positive that NVIDIA has issued shareholders a 7.5 cent dividend per share. Whether it was the popularity of Tegra 3 or the GeForce 600 line, NVIDIA has a lot to be happy about. CEO Jen-Hsun Huang had the following statement:
Investments in our new growth strategies paid off this quarter in record revenues and margins. Kepler GPUs are winning across the special-purpose PC markets we serve, from gaming to design to supercomputing. And Tegra is powering some of the most innovative tablets, phones and cars in the market.
NVIDIA projects another increase in revenue for the current quarter compared to last year's, with gross margin staying nearly the same as the third quarter. Times are certainly good for the green team.
