Back before RAGE launched, id Software said the new FPS would include mod tools to create or change pretty much anything in the game. However, RAGE's launch came and went without any peep of those tools, called id Studio, and it wasn't until this past March did id's co-founder John Carmack say the tools (and 64-bit version) were still on the way. Well, that was March and we're almost to November, yet still no mod tools in sight. It may not be all bleak, as Carmack took to Twitter to say the work on Doom 3: BFG Edition took up a lot of time, but RAGE's mod tools are coming "Real Soon Now." He also thinks the studio has "made poor decisions on this all year," which may be the beginnings of an apology to the PC gaming community. We'll just have to wait and see on when Carmack confirms the mod tools arrival, and hopefully that long awaited 64-bit version, too.
