As the launch of Windows 8 approaches, Microsoft is gearing toward releasing the latest edition of Internet Explorer. The company will release the preview of Internet Explorer 10 in mid-November, then tweak the browser as it collects feedback from users and developers before releasing a final version. Microsoft entirely rebuilt the browser for Windows 8, featuring increased performance and more developer capabilities. According to Strangeloop, this latest version of Internet Explorer is 8% faster than Chrome 20. Microsoft also added and reviewed support for additional standards, such as W3C drafts, in this new version of IE 10.
