One of the scariest games in recent has to be DOOM 3. Id Software created the (at the time) new id Tech 4 engine to power the game and ensure the denizens of Hell were rendered in the scariest detail possible. The game used lighting and shadows to a high degree, although many people found the game far too dark once you lowered your flashlight. A mod was created to solve that problem, but the game was still rather scary. Several months ago, id Software and Bethesda Softworks announced a remastered version of the game was on the way called DOOM 3: BFG Edition. Both DOOM 3 and its expansion, Resurrection of Evil, have been upgraded in terms of visuals, plus your character now sports a handy flashlight on his armor. The BFG Edition also includes eight new levels called "The Lost Mission," and a copy of DOOM 1 and 2. You can see all of that and more in the launch trailer below.
DOOM 3: BFG Edition is now available in North America for $29.99 on the PC and $39.99 on the PS3 and 360. It'll launch on October 19 in Europe.
