Running benchmarks on your PC is a good way to test your rig's gaming prowess, and with 3DMark and a library of PC titles armed with built-in benchmarking tools there are a lot of options to choose from. But what we don't have right now is a GPU benchmarking program that shows a rampaging feline monster about to obliterate a hapless city - and that's what Plastic Demo's Catzilla is about to deliver. It will probably be the most visually unconventional application you'll ever install to measure your computer's framerates, and the program is based on a brief animated film which Plastic director Michal Staniszewski says was derived from something out of his dreams. The project is being developed in collaboration with Plastige, the talented guys behind the rousing Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition intro video featuring Letho the Kingslayer. Sign up for the soon-to-be released beta, and get a taste of Catzilla from the video below.
