Fans of mech combat games are being richly rewarded this year, with several entries on the horizon. One of the newcomers is a game called Hawken, which puts players in the cockpit of custom mechs to battle it out against others. Hawken has been in alpha testing recently, but if you weren't lucky enough to get for that, things may change. Developer Adhesive Games and publisher Meteor Entertainment announced the first closed beta for Hawken begins on Friday, October 26, and runs to Sunday, October 28. Anyone who was in Alpha 2 testing will automatically be in this closed beta, while everyone else needs to try and get a beta code. Codes will be given out on the Hawken forums, Twitter, and Facebook, plus some select partners will also have keys to give out. Everything in the closed betas are not under an NDA, however the NDA for Alpha 2 has not been lifted at this time.
More closed betas for Hawken will arrive until the game enters open beta on December 12. Seeing as how Hawken is a free-to-play game, that open beta is the game's official launch.
