4-Inch Samsung Galaxy S III Mini Launching October 11
A smaller version of Samsung's very popular Galaxy S III will be launched October 11th, and it's going to pack a similar, slightly scaled-down hardware compared to its bigger sibling. The more compact smartphone is targeted towards the European market, which Samsung notes has a high demand for four-inch devices. "There's a lot of demand for a 4-inch screen device in Europe. Some call it an entry-level device, but we call it mini," says Samsung's head of Mobile Communications JK Shin. Germany will be getting the S III Mini first, but it hasn't been announced which countries will be getting the phone next. What makes the handset special is that it's not an entry-level phone unlike Samsung's previous iterations of its Mini lineup, which safely takes it out of the budget category with a display size rivaling that of Apple's iPhone.
