Gearbox has decided to surprise pretty much everyone by moving the launch of the Mechromancer DLC for Borderlands 2 from October 16 to today. That's right folks, the Mechromancer DLC for Borderlands 2 is now available on the PC, PS3, and 360. The new character is free for anyone who pre-ordered the game, while those who did not have to pay $9.99. It's a small price to pay considering a fifth class is added to the loot-fest known as Borderlands 2, and you can check out the skill tree while the DLC downloads. Gaige has three distinct skill paths for you to follow, with each one offering some unique abilities for the Deathtrap. The Ordered Chaos path sounds the most fun, but you are free to stock up in another path or try and disperse your skill points as equally as possible.
However, everything is not all roses, as some reports on the Borderlands 2 forums say the Mechromancer DLC has wiped out players' Badass rank and golden keys. This is not the first time the Badass reset bug has appeared and it is unknown if the DLC has a new iteration or is simply affecting more people. Gearbox has not commented further on the bug or what causes it, so you may want to backup your game data to be on the safe side. Hopefully a patch can fix the issue soon, and we will let you know when it does.
