The ESL has announced that the Intel Extreme Masters gaming competition will be making a stop in Katowice, Poland from January 18-20, 2013. The tournament will feature StarCraft II and League of Legends events with a total prize pool of $82,000. Michal Blicharz, the head of the ESL said, "Poland is a country of great eSports traditions with two championships in the Intel Extreme Masters as well. Announcing an event in Poland fills me with great personal pride because I am Polish myself." This announcement comes after the recent cancelation of the IEM event in China due to tension between China and Japan.
