Good news for Total War fans, as The Creative Assembly announced "full Steam Workshop integration" for Total War: Shogun 2. A new suite of modding tools called the Assembly Kit was also announced, which is a fairly involved set of tools to create any manner of mods for the game. Steam Workshop allows for easy uploading and downloading of mods for Shogun 2, and you can keep track of your installed ones with a new mod manager. The already available battlefield editor, TEd, has also been integrated with Steam Workshop and improved to allow for the creation of historical battles. One final piece of modding news is the launch of the Total War Wiki to better understand how to mod Shogun 2. It will also provide for more communication to the CA staff, which is always a nice thing to see. It's going to be very interesting to see just what kind of mods are created and appear on the Workshop, especially for any total conversions.
