The Creative Assembly is hard at work on Total War: Rome II, the sequel to perhaps the most popular Total War entry. So far we have seen some screenshots of the game, and while a picture says a thousand words, video is always better. Luckily for us, the first in-game trailer for Total War: Rome II has arrived, and I must say, it looks fantastic. Well, fantastic is too simple of a word to describe the visuals, really. Rome II pushes the boundaries of what a strategy game, or most games, should look like, with realistic water, accurate animations, brilliant effects, and so much more. The Battle of Carthage has been brought back to life in stunning detail, but the only sad part is the footage does not last very long. Still, it should make many computers weep at the graphical splendor.

Total War: Rome II arrives in the second half of next year, but no firm date has been pinpointed. Either way, it gives gamers plenty of time to plan out the next upgrade.

Rome was my favorite of the Total War series. Excited to see how this turns out.

Same here. I may need to load up Rome again and relive some of the battles.
