Borderlands 2 has been out for just about a week now (in North America, at least), and many people have been enjoying it nearly nonstop. Gearbox has plans to expand the base game with four add-on campaigns that can be purchased in a Season Pass and the separate Mechromancer character. Those are not everything the studio has on the agenda however, as CEO Randy Pitchford recently said some non-Season Pass DLC is planned for Borderlands 2. The Mechromancer is just one example, as Pitchford said more characters are "likely" and even new vehicle types. He explained the team has been working on all sorts of ideas since the game was finished, with many expected to appear as DLC, like the vehicles.
As for the Season Pass content, all four are planned to be large like the General Knoxx one from Borderlands 1. The first DLC is "extremely far along," the second is also in "amazing shape," while the third is a "litle farther out" and the fourth is just in pre-concept. Hopefully it is not long before Gearbox reveals when we can expect the Season Pass DLC, but at least the Mechromancer class is set to arrive on October 16. It is free to anyone who pre-ordered, while anyone who did not has to shell out $9.99.
