According to an e-mail obtained by The Verge, Jet Blue will officially announce that it will be adding in-flight Wi-Fi to several of its planes at the Low Cost Airlines Conference this week. The Ka-band satellites will be provided by ViaSat Exede technology and should start showing up on planes in January 2013. The service will remain free until at least 30 planes have been outfitted with the satellites, and after that basic use will remain free while more bandwidth heavy tasks will have an associated fee.
