Blizzard Details Format of Battle.net World Championship

The 32 spots in the Battle.net World Championship Series finals to be held in Shanghai, China are almost filled. Now that it is getting closer to the end of the tournament, Blizzard has released the details of the format for the finals. The players will be split into eight groups of four players, with each group going through a double elimination competition. Each match will be a best of three and two players will make it out of each group into a single elimination playoff bracket. The playoff matches will be best of five and the final round will be a best of seven. In order to ensure that a variety of players will meet in the group stage, a maximum of two players from the same continent can be in each group.
