In July, it was announced that Epic Game's Fortnite would be the first game to use Unreal Engine 4 and arrive in 2013. Epic's Cliff Bleszinski believes very strongly in the PC market, which is why Fortnite is exclusive to computers. He even says the next generation systems are already here in the form of high-end PCs, which is a great statement to hear from a studio that was increasingly console-centric. Fortnite is a "PC game first and foremost," according to Bleszinski, because "the PC never died." This game is a priority for the studio to show off what Unreal Engine 4 can do, since Bleszinski and the team do not want to disappoint PC gamers.

A beta for Fortnite will arrive sometime in 2013, with a primary goal of seeing what the community likes or doesn't like. The beta will be our chance to let Epic know just how everything in the game is working, and expand on our ideas from that point on. There is no set release date, mod support, or single player content for Fortnite so far, but I imagine all of that will be revealed before long.

What a load. I remember when Cliffy B bashed all pc gamers as pirates when looking for an excuse to not port Gears of War 2 to PC. I guess now that the PC's the best marketing tool for his product, he loves it again. What a hypocrite.

Everyone in the industry keeps going back and forth. I don't care if devs/pubs act hypocritical, all I care about is a solid, polished product on the PC. I care for the result, not the journey.
