Sapphire has announced a new workstation platform based on the AMD FirePro A300 APU, the Sapphire PGS A300M/A320M professional platform. The workstation platform is targeted at entry and mid-level 2D and 3D workstation users. Multiple monitors are supported through AMD Eyefinity technology, and the use of Discrete Compute Offload will allow this new platform to have its performance increased with the use of additional GPUs. Supported GPUs for this include the AMD FirePro V3900 and V4900. The mainboard in the system has VGA, DVI-D, and DisplayPort outputs, as well as four USB 3.0 and eight USB 2.0 ports. There are a number of software applications that are certified to work with this platform including SolidWorks and TurboCAD.
