Late last night came the unofficial official release date announcement for Torchlight II: September 20, 2012. Today is the official official release date announcement, which came accompanied with an official launch trailer. Runic Games' CEO Max Schaefer had the following statement to add:
We worked incredibly hard to make sure we could release Torchlight II before Summer's official end. Development will continue right up until we ship, and we couldn't be happier to be putting the finishing touches on a great game. We want to get it to the fans as quickly as possible. Honestly, we can't wait.
If you haven't been following along all this time, Torchlight II is the upcoming sequel to the highly popular action-RPG Torchlight, which not only brings us four new classes, but also multiplayer – both LAN and Internet – something that was absent in the first game. If you haven't cleared your calendars for those first few weeks of Autumn, I suggest you do so now. With highly addictive time-killers Borderlands 2 and Torchlight II releasing just days apart, you can kiss your free time good bye.
