Gearbox had some big news to announce earlier today as Borderlands 2 will receive four add-on campaigns by June, 2013. These as-yet-unrevealed add-ons will be released as DLC, bringing new areas, enemies, adventures, and more to help extend the life of the game. Each DLC will set gamers back $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points, while more details on each one will come later. Gearbox will offer a Season Pass to net you all four DLCs for $29.99 or 2400 Microsoft Points, which saves you 25% off the individual price. The Season Pass will be available on Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and at GameStop, so you have plenty of ways to pick it up and save some cash. Some people may balk at the idea of a Season Pass, but the savings it offers should entice many to throw their money at Gearbox.
The only DLCs not included with the Season Pass are the Premiere Club (including the Mechromancer) and other pre-order items, most likely the GameStop-exclusive Creature Slaughter Dome. Those still require a pre-order so be sure to do so before Borderlands 2 arrives on September 18.
