iPad Mini Coming in October?

According to sources, Apple will unveil the iPad mini sometime in October at a separate event from the next iteration of the iPhone. The new device is expected to have a display smaller than eight inches, putting it in competition with tablets such as the Google Nexus 7. By revealing the two devices at different times Apple will be able to ensure that each device gets plenty of publicity and that neither device detracts from the other. Apple declined to comment on the rumors, but official announcements are expected in the coming days and weeks.
