Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition arrived on the PC yesterday, but if you picked it up it may not be everything you thought it was. For starters, the resolution is locked at a paltry 1024x720, which is one of the odder resolutions you will ever come across for a video game. From Software made no claims that Dark Souls on the PC was anything but a straight port, but that low resolution may throw some people off. However, one of the great things about PC gaming are modders and luckily one of them released a fix for Dark Souls' resolution lock. A NeoGAF member by the name of "Durante" modified some files for the game and managed to get it running at 2560x1440. That is a massive improvement and one that should be most welcome to Dark Souls PC gamers.

Currently the mod is at version 0.3 and Durante is still making tweaks to it, so just keep an eye on the NeoGAF thread for updates. Be sure to disable AA and motion blur before using the fix, and keep in mind the game is locked at 30 frames per second.
