A few days ago, I reported that a highly popular indie game was finally coming to the PC via Steam, after four years on Xbox Live Arcade. Now comes word of another popular XBLA title making its way to the PC, but this time we won't have to wait four years. Physics-based puzzler The Splatters, released April 11, 2012 on XBLA, is coming to the PC, debuting on Steam. Niv Fisher, co-founder of developer SpikySnail, posted a blog entry announcing the news alongside a trailer that can be seen below. In the post, he said that the team considered doing a straight port, but eventually decided against that for several reasons:

[...] knowing what we now know, the urge to change things around and try to improve the experience is stronger than anything. Besides, it’ll make our work a lot more interesting (straight up ports tend to get boring and technical). Big game development groups can do simultaneous launch on several platforms, we cannot. So our edge here is we can keep improving our craft as we go from one platform to another if we choose to. And in this case, we definitely want to do that.

Due to the changes, no release date has been announced just yet, but Fisher says "it won't be that long." Pricing was also not listed, but it currently goes for $10 (800 MSP) on XBLA.
