Planetary Annihilation Kickstarter Rockets by $500,000 - 24 Days Remain
It was just the other day when a Kickstarter page for Planetary Annihilation appeared. The developer of Super Monday Night Combat, Uber Entertainment, want to show what a real-time strategy game can really be like, and is asking for gamers to help. A goal of $900,000 was set for Planetary Annihilation to become a reality, and the game is well on its way to seeing reality. Planetary Annihilation's Kickstarter is now over $500,000 with 24 days remaining, and it looks like the goal will be easily reached. Uber Entertainment has posted some updates for the game, including certain aspects. The RTS will be available on Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux, with the latter being requested by the game's supporters.
Planetary Annihilation will also feature offline/LAN support, multi-language support (English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish), a shareable custom Commander unit for the $1,000 tier, and 64-bit support. The offline/LAN play is always a great thing to see in any game, and Uber wants gamers to enjoy the game however they want. Playing offline will not require DRM of any kind, however some features like player stats and auto-updating will be disabled. Logging in will enable everything and give you access to the community and social features. The developer is always listening to ideas, so feel free to send them suggestions for possible inclusion.
