Many people are undoubtedly waiting for a reduced price on the PlayStation Vita before making the leap. However, according to Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida, there will be no price cut for the PS Vita this year. Yoshida made the announcement in an interview and said Sony engineers are working to reduce manufacturing cost to make a price cut possible, but it will not come this year. The Vita did just launch earlier this year so it takes time to reduce manufacturing costs, but Yoshida assures us it will happen eventually. He goes on to say that Sony hopes the different PS Vita bundles entice prospective buyers, especially when you consider a game, like LittleBigPlanet or Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, are basically free. Hopefully that pans out, but for anyone else waiting for a price cut, it will be a while.
