CD Projekt RED certainly likes to please PC gamers, and its latest act is a fairly big one. The developer announced official mod tools will be coming to The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, which will let PC gamers mod the game to their heart's content. Some already do, but the official tools will make everything that much easier. The mod tools will be called the REDkit and will be shown off behind closed doors at Gamescom next week. Hopefully CD Projekt does not wait too long to show off what the REDkit can do to the rest of the PC gaming world, but the studio did say the tools will allow gamers to add non-linear adventures, locations, and more to The Witcher 2. I am sure a lot more will be capable with the REDkit, especially when you look at what modders do with other RPGs.
About the only things CD Projekt RED did not mention are when exactly the REDkit will be available on the PC and if Steam Workshop support will be added. The first one could be mentioned during Gamescom, but the second may take a bit more time. Either way, official mod tools for The Witcher 2 are coming.
