Good news for all MMO procrastinators out there: Funcom's highly acclaimed conspiracy-laden RPG The Secret World will open its doors to all players for a limited time next weekend. That means it will be free-to-play starting August 3, 5pm EDT until August 7, 3am EDT. Anyone who still has a beta account lying around should have instant access, but new players can jump right in by creating a new account, too. The game needs at least a 30GB chunk of hard disk space, so it's probably a good idea to download the huge client beforehand. Virtual fireworks will brighten up the mysterious in-game skies to welcome next week's initiates, and with all the positive buzz the game has earned, the level 15 cap shouldn't take too long to complete. Persistent newbies who manage completing 30 missions during next weekend receive 1200 bonus points along with a special t-shirt, with leaderboards highlighting the top 100 mission solvers. Now that The Secret World has been out and about for its first 30 days, a free-to-play mode is the perfect way to celebrate its success.
