That countdown expired earlier today, as Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is now available to pre-purchase for Windows. The game will arrive on September 18th for $19.99, but pre-purchasing early will save you two dollars. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition combines the base game and Tales of the Sword Coast expansion, plus it includes over 400 improvements, an all-new adventure called The Black Pits, and three new characters. There are also new player character voice sets, native support for high resolution displays, and improved multiplayer support with connectivty between all platforms. The Mac OS X and iPad versions will also arrive in September, while the Android version has no announced date.
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition downloads directly from Beamdog and will not require any game client. Pre-purchasing now will let you pre-load the game to be ready to play on September 18th. A classic game will soon be reborn for older games to relive and a whole new wave of gamers to experience.
