Kojima's Fox Engine Set to Showcase Its Talents on August 30
There have been plenty of rumors flying around concerning Hideo Kojima's video game projects. The Fox Engine was shown off last year, but then nothing definititve has been said as to which games will make use of the new engine. Project Ogre has been mentioned as a possibility, especially since the screenshot shows off a highly detailed APC. Other rumors have come and gone, but now it looks like Hideo Kojima is nearly ready to take the wraps off of the Fox Engine. Kojima spoke at length on the PlayStation Blog reflecting back on 25 years of Metal Gear Solid, and revealed the Fox Engine will be shown off on August 30th in Japan. The game designer said the engine is not yet finished, but the team is ready to show what it can do. Kojima said a new engine needs a new game to showcase it, and while that was originally planned to be Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the team shifted focus to a brand new title. That could be whatever Project Ogre will officially be called, but it could be something else based on Kojima's history. Either way, we have just about a month remaining to see the Fox Engine.
