Google has announced its acquisition of French software company Sparrow. Sparrow is the developer behind the Sparrow e-mail client for iOS and OS X, and Google plans to have the engineers at Sparrow help with continuing development of Gmail software for various platforms. Users of the Sparrow client shouldn't be too worried by this news as CEO Dominique Leca stated, "While we'll be working on new things at Google, we will continue to make Sparrow available and provide support for our users." Official numbers weren't available, but sources indicate the deal was for less than $25 million.
