Halo 4 will not release until November 6th, 2012, but it appears Microsoft is already looking to the future of the franchise. We know there will eventually be a Halo 5 and 6, but in a rare concession, it seems a detail about the Next Xbox is potentially confirmed. Microsoft's 343 Industries is hiring for an "experience graphics developer" to work on the current and next-generation Halo games, with DirectX 11 experience a plus. The current Xbox 360 only supports DirectX 9, like all consoles, but listing DX11 experience likely means the Next Xbox will step into the modern age. Now, this does not confirm the Next Xbox will be arriving anytime soon, but at least Microsoft is covering its bases for the next-gen. Halo 5 could end up being a launch title for the Next Xbox, and I imagine 343 Industries would like to show off everything the new console can do with DX11. If the Xbox 360 prolongs its life long enough to have Halo 5 release on it, well then maybe Halo 6 will be the launch title for the Next Xbox.
