The upcoming Microsoft Surface tablet has the potential to be a real game changer, especially since it will be running Windows 8. The actual Windows OS will allow for native applications on the x86 Surface model and the ARM-powered model should be a simple matter of porting over the proper programs. One of the interesting aspects of actually using Windows is the ability to play games on the tablet. The Touch Cover or Type Cover can help turn the Surface into a psuedo-laptop, but there will most likely be some games to take advantage of the touchscreen. First-person shooters may not immediately come to mind as the game of choice for a tablet, but Microsoft has confirmed Halo 4 will work on Surface. Microsoft's president for interactive entertainment business, Don Mattrick, recently revealed that bit of news, but did not elaborate any further. This does not outright confirm a PC version of Halo 4, but it at least opens up the possibility of one. Being able to play Halo 4 on the computer or even just a Surface tablet would be a welcome change from Microsoft's previous views on PC gaming, but we will just have to see what happens.
