Nintendo Promises 'Reasonable' Price for Wii U

One of the glaring omissions from Nintendo's E3 press conference was any information on the Wii U. Sure, it showed off some games for the system and what the GamePad will bring, but Nintendo did not announce a release date or even a price for the Wii U. Well, it still has not announced either one, but Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has said the Wii U will have a "reasonable" price. Iwata says Nintendo wants to avoid a problem like it had with the 3DS, which consumers believed was priced too high and caused Nintendo to slash the price soon after launch. He believes there is no other system quite like the Wii U and that it will help Nintendo recover from the 3DS' underwhelming performance. Hopefully Nintendo can really deliver a solid price for the Wii U, as I feel it needs to in order to compete with Sony and Microsoft.

Maybe they should have focused more on "reasonable" hardware specs. Or maybe "reasonable" third-party game library. But curious to see what their definition of reasonable is....$200 for a system with two GamePads? Of course, knowing them, it'll include just one GamePad.

I immagine Nintendo are changing their "game plan". Selling lots of units for a cheap price rather than not so many for a more expensive price. I'm sure they would have learnt this from their previous 3DS systems. If only it had a blu-ray player in it, it would also class as a portable dvd player!!!! Reaching another market for them.
