No More Resistance - Sony Has No Plans for Franchise

Bad news for PlayStation gamers, as Sony and Insomniac's Resistance franchise looks to be at an end. Insomniac has moved on from the franchise to focus on other titles, and the last one it worked on was last year's Resistance 3 for the PlayStation 3. The recently released Resistance: Burning Skies, developed by Nihilistic Software, for the PS Vita failed to win over the hearts of gamers. Now it looks like Sony has "no definitive plans" for the franchise, which can be a good thing. Resistance: Fall of Man was the definitive title to get when the PS3 launched in 2006 and the sequels continued the story to a thrilling conclusion. The PSP and PS Vita titles are nice side entries, but did not quite capture the allure of the PS3 titles. Since Insomniac is turning its attention to other games, I am happy to see Sony essentially retire the Resistance franchise rather than drag it out to something it should not be.
