Blackberry 10 Won't Have Physical Keyboard
The next smartphone from Research in Motion, the Blackberry 10, won't have a physical keyboard when it is launched in the fourth quarter of this year. The physical keyboard has been an enduring characteristic in Blackberry phones, while the iPhone and Android based phones have been mainly touch screen based. This could be a move to better compete in a market that the company once dominated, but some industry analysts worry that this move could drive even more customers away. Colin Gillis of BGC Financial said, “The physical keyboard is the most dominant item that separates out Research In Motion from its competitors.” There is speculation that RIM will release a Blackberry 10 with a physical keyboard, but there is no set date at this time for when that will happen.
